Emmerdale stars tease whether Paddy Kirk has a secret son with Mandy Dingle

There's a lot of potential drama there.

Like many Emmerdale fans, we are more than excited to see the lovely Lisa Riley return as Mandy Dingle, but she's not alone.

The character is bringing along her 16-year old son called Vinnie, which could cause a lot of potential drama with ex-husband Paddy Kirk if the child is his or if thinks that's the case (Mandy left the show about 17 years ago so the timeline could possibly add up).

Obviously Paddy has recently lost a baby with his current other half Chas, so there's a lot of drama to mine there there.

When asked by ES and other media if Paddy thinks that Vinnie is his son, actor Dominic Brunt said: "[Paddy is] wet and dim, it goes over his head, even after meeting him.

"He doesn’t think anything, and I don’t know what the plans are. I think they [the writers] are parking it for now and don’t even know themselves."
Chas actress Lucy Pargeter added that if it is true, the story could go "in any direction".

She said: "He’s already got a son of sorts in Aaron. If he had a biological son that could have implications on his relationship with Aaron, who would he favour? I’m not a writer and have no idea of the plans but the opportunities are endless if it is."

The pair also stated that Mandy and Paddy have a little flirt but it goes no further than that, although it's still enough to cause a fight between the two women.

Well, we say fight, by Lucy says: "The fight is a very girly hair pull! It's more of a catfight, one more step up from a slap.

"Mandy’s hair comes off the worst! There’s a nice bit to it, a resolution and a nice bit afterwards."

Emmerdale airs Mandy's return on Monday, January 7 at 7pm on ITV.
