We have all underestimated Emmerdale’s Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough). What a lad. He took on Kim Tate (Claire King) with a whopper of a blackmail plot as he told her to be nice or never see her beloved son James ever again. He has Kim by the short and curlies as he knows exactly where the son she’s so desperate to find is. He employed all of his new scheming techniques he’s learned from his boss and the student became the master as he found her kryptonite and used it against her. The actual blackmail he used was absolute class too – ‘turn nice or you’ll never see your son.’ Bravo Graham, Bravo. Could something so simple be the thing to turn Kim from the resident superb***h into a reformed angel? After growing tired of her games with the Dingles, Graham taunted her with Jamie’s phone number and told her: ‘You have to stop playing games with people’s lives and then you’ll get him back.’ Kim then promised to be good and he handed it over, so the gleeful Kim immediately dialed and left a heartfelt ‘mummy misses you’ voicemail. But oh LOL to Kim thinking it would be that simple – she’d been played.
Graham knew she wouldn’t change and when he heard how she’d continued playing games with Cain he reminded her that he could be as petty as she could as when she called the number again she learned it had been cut off. Graham meant it when he told her to play nice or else. But as we know James Tate is set to appear in the soap soon, does Kim actually have a personality transplant in order to track him down? Or does she beat Graham at his own game?
Producer Kate Brooks told metro.co.uk of James’ arrival: ‘There’s always going to be a nice young hunk! We haven’t cast anyone yet, but we’ve seen Kim saying that she wants to find Jamie and reconnect with her son, and it’s another Tate name to bring into the fold, so it’s definitely on the cards.’ Asked if he’ll have big secrets when he returns, Kate said: ‘Possibly. But you know, he is a Tate, so he could come with a whole load of other secrets that we’ve got no idea about, that we will find out in due course,’ she said. ‘But yeah, it’s definitely on the horizon. So lots of stuff going on at Home Farm.’ Viewers also saw Graham have his last phone call with Joe before wishing him a nice life. Is that the door closed on the Joe Tate saga? There’s still Debbie to find out her fiance is alive after all…
